Brand New Historic Garage, St. Stephen

Our client, for this new build, is a painter by trade and needed a space outside of his home to store his tools and painting materials; that’s when he called us.

He wanted a 24x30 foot custom garage that matched the exterior of his home. He wanted it to seem like it was there for years, as he lives in a historic home. Building a garage on the property meant there were many things to consider when it came to grading the land to make sure it aligns with the home. It took a lot of planning and communicating with our subcontractors to create a cohesive and visually appealing property.

We needed to consider the natural topography, drainage patterns, and elevation of the existing structure. It's crucial to maintain proper drainage away from the home foundation to prevent water damage. Once the grading of the land was accomplished, it was time to pour the foundation, frame the walls, then focus on the exterior so it seamlessly matched our client’s historic home. To do this, we replicated the certain architectural elements of the home such as trim details, roof pitch, and siding.

The new garage not only compliments our client’s historic home, it meets their practical needs and preserves the historic integrity.
