This seaside home is located in the heart of St. Andrews, surrounded by waterfront and character homes. It was important for our clients to infuse a little character into their new custom home to pay tribute to the home that once stood on the property.

Charlotte County is known for its charm and beauty, something we want to reflect in each home we build. Crafting custom homes using reclaimed and antique materials adds a compelling layer of history and character to the construction process.

The old home that was originally on the property was beyond repair, so our clients decided to build new but we made sure the new build would ooze character and historic charm. We incorporated over 200 year old hand-hewn beams to the kitchen to add a timeless touch to the room. These beams display the marks left by the craftsmen who shaped them.

This two story, three bedroom home features the perfect blend of modern amenities with the area’s heritage. The upstairs has old-style cottage floors, along with custom trim throughout the home to add a layer of nostalgia.

Building a custom home requires a thoughtful approach with many details to consider. This home has historic charm, but modern efficiency was a must for our clients. Efficiency is a crucial consideration to maximise comfort, reduce energy consumption, and lower utility costs. We installed a central heat pump, spray foam insulation, and insulation in the slab that was above building code requirements.

Small details make a huge impact that can elevate the entire feel of a home. The small details in the custom fascia and door trim add a unique and tailored look to the exterior. We added overlapping layers of cedar shingles that imparts a sense of timelessness and a connection to nature, creating a welcoming and inviting exterior that stands the test of time.
